In creating this dress I wanted to make a garment that the wearer could customize according to her mood and state of mind. I sewed a row of vintage buttons on the waistline of the dress and made several skirt panels with rows of button holes so that the wearer can button on each panel however she choses. I made each panel from a unique material such as antique hankies, lace and handmade wool felt, and adorned each section with hand embroidery or appliqué.
